Confidentiality Terms

1. What's covered. Any script, treatment, outline, pitch, or other material you submit ("Your Material"), and anything you share about it during a consult.

2. Who sees it. Your Material is read only by the consultant assigned to your consult, only to deliver the service you booked. It is never shared, forwarded, pitched, or shown to anyone else without your written permission. That includes any production company, agency, or management company.

3. No AI. Your Material is never uploaded to an AI tool or used to train any AI system.

4. Storage and deletion. Your Material is deleted within [60] days after your final session, or within [60] days after an ongoing story-editing engagement ends. You can request earlier deletion at any time.

5. Exceptions. These terms don't cover information that is already public through no fault of ours, information you've permitted us to share, or disclosure required by law. Where the law allows, we'll notify you before any required disclosure.

6. Consultants. Every consultant on the roster signs a confidentiality agreement with Script Consults that is at least as protective as these terms.

7. Ownership. Submitting Your Material gives Script Consults and its consultants no right, title, license, or interest in it, beyond reading it to deliver your consult.

Client Engagement Agreement

This agreement is between [Script Consults LLC], a California limited liability company ("Script Consults," "we"), and the person booking ("you").

1. Services. We read Your Material in full and deliver the service you booked, as described on the site at the time of booking.

2. What feedback is. Feedback is professional creative opinion. Creative judgment is subjective, and other readers may disagree. You decide what to use.

3. No guarantees. You are not paying for, and we do not promise, representation, a sale, an option, production, financing, festival selection, competition placement, or any other outcome. We don't make introductions or pass material along.

4. Not a submission. A consult is not a submission to any production company, studio, or financier, including any company a consultant owns or works for. Reading Your Material creates no obligation to develop, produce, or acquire it.

5. Ownership. You keep all rights in Your Material.

6. Independent work. Our consultants are working writers, directors, and producers who develop their own projects. Stories often share premises, genres, themes, and structures. Similarities in ideas or other non-copyrightable elements do not by themselves mean Your Material was used. Nothing in this agreement restricts a consultant from independently developing their own work. If a consultant has a project substantially similar to yours, they will decline the consult, and you will be refunded or rematched.

7. Confidentiality. The Confidentiality Terms are part of this agreement.

8. Payment. Fees are due at booking, through Stripe, at the rate posted when you book.

9. Your script. Email it at least [7] days before your call. PDF or Final Draft are all accepted.

10. Rescheduling and cancellation. You can reschedule free with [48] hours' notice. If you cancel before the read begins, you get a full refund. Once the read has begun, fees are non-refundable except under section 11. A call missed without notice is forfeited.

11. Fit. If the consultant reads Your Material and isn't the right person for it, we'll tell you and refund the consult in full.

12. Recording. We don't record calls. [Option: you may record audio for personal use if you say so at the start of the call.]

13. Testimonials. We publish your feedback only with your written permission, credited the way you approve.

14. Liability. To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid for the service at issue.

15. Consultants. Consults may be delivered by independent contractors on the Script Consults roster, who are bound by these terms.

16. Governing law. This agreement is governed by California law, with venue in Los Angeles County.

17. Acceptance. Checking the box at booking means you agree to these terms.
